System Conversion FAQ

Why is North Little Rock Electric doing this?

Transitioning a utility’s software is no simple decision. We firmly believe that our new service provider will enhance our internal operations and deliver better customer experiences for our customers going forward.

When will we see these changes go into effect?

We are currently working through transferring data and building out new systems with our new service provider. The project is set to be completed by the beginning of January 2027.

What do I need to do to prepare for this transition

As of today, the best thing you can do to prepare is to ensure your information is up to date in our system. You can complete our Phone Number Update Form online by clicking/tapping here!

What is going to change?

There will be several changes coming to the customer experience. You can read about them by clicking/tapping here!

Is there going to be a new app/customer portal? Will I need to create new logins?

Yes. We are going to be launching a new app and customer portal online. Unfortunately, we were unable to use your current sign-in information, so you will have to set up a new account for the portal and app. Instructions will be available closer to launch.

Will my account number stay the same?

Your account number will not be the same. Account number changes had to change to meet the requirements of the new system.

Will my payment information be transferred over?

Credit card payments will need to be reentered in the new system. We are currently working on getting banking information transferred into the system.

Are there going to bbe any new payment methods offered with the new system?

We will now be offering Apple Pay, Google Pay, Venmo, PayPal, and CheckFree Pay in addition to the payment methods that we offered before.

Are you getting a new kiosk? If so, what is changing?

Yes. We will have a new kiosk in our City Services Building (700 W. 29th Street, NLR). The new kiosk will be able to scan a barcode on your bill to pull up your account. There will be a slot to read checks so that you no longer have to manually enter the information. Tap to pay will be available for payments using your digital wallet and eligible credit cards.

Are your bills getting redesigned?

Our bills are getting redesigned to provide customers with a clear view of their electric accounts. A barcode will be added that can be scanned at our kiosk.
