What is the best way to find the latest news/outage updates from North Little Rock Electric?
North Little Rock Electric uses Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and NLRElectric.com to provide customers with the latest happenings from our utility. In outage situations, posts primarily appear on Facebook & X.
Where can I find North Little Rock Electric on social media?
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NLRElectric/
X (Formerly Twitter): https://x.com/NLRElectric
Are the outage posts automated?
No. We purposefully send out updates to our customers about outages.
What is the criteria for an outage post to appear on social media?
Our internal policy is to post about outages of over 100 customers.
How do updates work during an outage?
We try our best to pass any relevant information on to our customers. Depending on the outage and the severity, the number of updates may vary. Sometimes our crews get the job done quickly so there isn’t really time to post updates, other times we can pass on updates as the social media team receives them from the field/dispatch.
Why don’t you respond to messages (direct messages, private messages, etc.) on social media?
We prefer funneling any questions or concerns through our official Customer Service resources. Customer Service can be reached at 501-975-8888 or through chat on NLRElectric.com. Our team will work with you to answer any questions or assist with your concerns.
Can I report outages through your social media accounts?
If you are trying to report an outage, it is very likely that we are already aware. If you are signed up for Outage Texting, you will receive a text alerting you to outages that we are aware of. You can check the Outage Map at NLRElectric.com/Outage to see the outages that North Little Rock Electric is currently aware of and working to restore. If you need to report an outage, you can call 501-975-8888 (option 1) or use the form in our Outage Center.
Why don’t you respond to comments on social media?
For visibility purposes, North Little Rock Electric will provide update posts instead of responding to individual comments. This makes it easier to pass information to the customer instead of it getting buried in the comment section.
Will you expand to other platforms for communication?
North Little Rock Electric is always evaluating the best ways to provide our customers with updates and other communication. If a platform shows up that could benefit our customers, we will evaluate it.
