Eclipse Page Graphic

Monday, April 8th, 2024, a total solar eclipse will take place over North Little Rock and the surrounding Central Arkansas area. Here’s what to know before the big day.

Will North Little Rock Electric turn off my street light so that I can see the eclipse better?

Unfortunately, North Little Rock Electric will not be taking requests to turn off street lights for the Eclipse. We won’t be able to meet this request for safety reasons, the number of potential requests, and the additional congestion in the state. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Will there be any delays or disruptions in the event of an outage or any other electric service calls?

It’s estimated there will be between one million and five million visitors to the state for the Solar Eclipse. The number of visitors will cause disruption and congestion throughout our service territory. North Little Rock Electric will have our crews ready to respond to outages and emergencies. Work like installs and finals could be delayed due to the large number of expected travelers on April 8th and 9th. We appreciate your patience as we navigate through the congestion during the eclipse.
