Welcome to Outage Texting

At North Little Rock Electric, we are always trying to improve the customer experience. We are excited to roll out Outage Texting to our customers on March 5th. Outage Texting will open a new way to stay in the loop during a service outage.

How do I get started?

Outage Texting is a free service provided to all customers (Message and Data Rates May Apply). You may have noticed recently that we have been pushing for our customers to update their phone numbers tied to their accounts. We will automatically enroll all North Little Rock Electric Customers into our Outage Texting service before we launch. To ensure you get these updates, it is important to keep your phone number tied to your account as up-to-date as possible.

Opting In/Out

To opt out of NLR Electric Outage Texting, please text STOP or QUIT to 501-975-8888.

If you decide down the road to rejoin Outage Texting, just text NLRED to 501-975-8888.

How Does It Work?

When an outage occurs, your meter will stop reporting information to North Little Rock Electric. An automated text will be sent to our customers minutes after the outage, making them aware that we are aware and preparing to act. Customers will be able to get the latest information on the outage by replying STATUS. Shortly after your power is restored, you will receive a message indicating that the outage has been resolved. You may not receive a text instantly, as we verify the outage/restore information is correct before we pass it along.

There may be instances where we are unable to automatically detect the outage. In this situation, you can quickly report the outage to our system by texting OUT.
